Yearbook Photo
1941

While going through yearbooks looking for different veteran’s photos, I came across Richard L. Carlsen’s photo.  For some reason I thought his name would be on the
Wall Unit.  I looked on the Original Wall Unit list and I found “Rochard Carlsen”.  I believe this to be the same person, let me explain...

When the Original Wall Unit was found, it had small wooden strips with names on it.  Being in poor condition, Joe Defalco, the then principal had taken on the responsibility of renovating the Wall Unit, decided to have the teachers of the Art Department copy the names down and paint over the names and replace them with a more permanent name plate.  Either in the copying down, or poor condition of the names, it was copied incorrectly. I am not absolutely certain of this, but in helping to explain the Wall Unit story and the strong possibility of being correct, we are linking to his name as spelled originally for whatever reason ‘Rochard Carlsen’.
